Recent studies have indicated that by 2018 the U.S. will experience a severe shortfall of workers to fill some 8.65 million jobs in high technology fields. Leadership at The Help Group, which has long known that many of its students diagnosed with autism love technology, realized that its students could excel in those jobs. The Help Group team decided to develop a new program to help students with autism cultivate skills and enter the jobs pipeline toward high technology fields, and ultimately help fill the nation’s gap for skilled workers.
