SUMMARY:CARF Canada Complimentary Webinar: Introduction to Governance
DESCRIPTION:Live online training – attendance is limited\, register now. \n\n\n\n\n\nEffective governance plays an important role in an organization’s long-term success\, accountability\, and ability to achieve its mission and purpose. A strong governing board provides oversight and direction while maintaining clear roles and responsibilities between governance and executive leadership. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis complimentary one-hour webinar will introduce CARF’s optional Governance standards and explore how they provide a framework for effective and accountable governance. Participants will learn about key areas of the standards\, including board roles and responsibilities\, governance policies and processes\, board composition and development\, the relationship between the board and executive leadership\, board and executive performance\, succession planning\, and executive compensation. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe webinar is intended for CARF-accredited organizations\, or organizations pursuing CARF accreditation\, that have a corporate governing board with legal authority to direct the business and affairs of the organization. The Governance standards do not apply to advisory boards\, community relations boards\, management committees\, or other bodies without legal governance authority. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe session will also provide an overview of how the Governance standards fit within CARF accreditation and considerations for organizations interested in including these optional standards as part of their CARF survey. \n\n\n\n\n\nAll presentations and materials are provided in English.
