SUMMARY:CARF Canada Webinar: Introduction to Aging Services Palliative and End-of-Life Specialty Designation
DESCRIPTION:Live online training – attendance is limited\, register now \n\n\n\n\n\nA palliative approach enhances quality of life for persons with life-limiting conditions and their families by addressing their needs\, preferences\, values\, and choices throughout the care journey. Early integration creates opportunities to understand what matters most to the person\, including their values\, beliefs\, wishes\, and end-of-life choices\, and to reflect these through advance care planning and individualized\, interdisciplinary care. \n\n\n\n\n\n This one-hour webinar will introduce CARF’s Palliative and End-of-Life Care Specialty Designation and explore how the standards support person- and family-centred palliative and end-of-life care across Aging Services settings. Participants will learn about key areas of the designation\, including holistic support that considers physical\, emotional\, psychosocial\, cultural\, religious\, and spiritual needs; grief and bereavement supports; education across the continuum of care; and practices that support equitable access to palliative and end-of-life care. \n\n\n\n\n\nParticipants will gain a better understanding of the Palliative and End-of-Life Care Specialty Designation\, how it enhances CARF accreditation in Aging Services\, and considerations for organizations interested in pursuing the designation. Training materials will be emailed to registrants one week prior to the training date. For more information\, click Register and review the Online Training Information tab. \n\n\n\n\n\nAll presentations and materials are provided in English. \n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is complimentary.
